Leslie Stefanson
After graduating from high school Leslie Stefanson left her home state of Minnesota to study at New York's prestigious Barnard College. It was there that she capitalized on her good looks to begin a successful modeling career, and it was while modeling that she got her first taste of being in front of the camera. Soon after graduating, she had her first acting job. She appeared in a small role in 1994 buddy action-comedy "The Cowboy Way." She moved up the credit list a bit in 1996 with her second appearance in the romantic comedy "The Mirror has Two Faces," starring and directed by Barbra Streisand. After a few more appearances in such films as "Flubber" and "As Good as it Gets," both in 1997, she landed her first starring role in the 1999 low-budget comedy-thriller "Delivered." Her turn in that film led to her landing her breakout role later that same year playing the title character, a mysteriously murdered army captain, in "The General's Daughter," which starred John Travolta, and turned out to be a blockbuster success. From there, she went on to land roles in such films as 2000's "Unbreakable," 2002's "The Stickup," and 2003's sci-fi thriller "Alien Hunter." In 2002, she appeared on a TV series for the first time with a regular role in the short-lived medical drama "MDs." More recently, she has slowed her acting career to concentrate on her sculpting, as well as raising her son with her partner, actor James Spader.
