Aaron G SHOULDA JUST WATCHED THE TRAILER OVER AND OVER! This is one of those movies were unfortunately all of the highlights and all of the best parts are contained in the trailer, and that truly is the extent of how “good” this movie actually is. The animation is pretty poor and seems like Saturday morning TV caliber. The characters are almost expressionless with confusing dialogue and a subpar plot line. I sat there wondering what I had done that was so wrong that I should be subjected to such punishment for two hours, and wished that I would’ve simply watched the trailer over and over and over again, as that would have been inherently better than sitting there for the full movie. At least the popcorn didn’t suck. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/02/23 Full Review Debra The kids enjoyed the movie it was funny and exciting Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/25/23 Full Review Tammy G Love Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry but movie was kind of boring. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/24/23 Full Review Wanda aka Grandma Precious movie for grands age 8 & 4. Good combo of funny/more surpring than scary moments. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/22/23 Full Review Derek L Although Stephen Fry's reimagined take on Oscar Wilde's short was an interesting concept, however parts of the story and structure felt rather rushed and bland. In addition, the animation was inconsistent. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/12/24 Full Review SkyRo P #MovieReview #TheCantervilleGhost This is your typical non-Disney non-DreamWorks movie, meaning it's OK, the storytelling is decent and the graphics are OK But when they're not one of the big companies, the acting seems to always be offputting as well Personally, I didn't like it. I was not a fan of it. I thought it was OK and it was there just to waste time. 10-15 years ago this would've been something to go and see in the theaters just to have that enjoyable moment of being in the theaters but now, with streaming, it's one of those films that will end up sitting there and leaving theaters quicker because nobody's gonna waste money physical money to see this. Theater movies now have to be on their a game in order to get people to spend money and this movie is a streaming movie . Rated 2 out of 5 stars 10/26/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Jake Wilson The Age (Australia) Technically the animation is about as good as could be hoped for under the circumstances... But none of this erases a sense of the film as a lost cause, which in turn generates a degree of unintended pathos. Rated: 2/5 Jan 18, 2024 Full Review Richard Whittaker Austin Chronicle While the youngest audiences might find some charm in its broader comedy, the version of The Canterville Ghost may be most appreciated by tweens with a flair from romance and grandeur. Rated: 2.5/5 Oct 23, 2023 Full Review Peter Bradshaw Guardian The visuals are not exactly cutting edge but the storytelling has bounce and there’s gusto in the vocal talents. Rated: 3/5 Sep 21, 2023 Full Review James Croot Stuff.co.nz It’s not going to set the world alight, but with plenty of knockabout humour and kinetic set-pieces for the kids and Shakespearean quotes and witty bon mots for the parents, this might just provide the perfect diversion... Rated: 3.5/5 Jan 25, 2024 Full Review Jim Schembri jimschembri.com There are some laughs in the first few reels [but the film] ranks only as a passable lark that starts well but becomes increasingly talky as the story plods on...It’s competent but unexceptional stuff. Advice: wait for it to stream. Rated: 2.5/5 Jan 12, 2024 Full Review Charles Solomon FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) It never shuts up and the animation is very limited.
