David Reddish Queerty Fran Drescher, as Hugos mother, gives an all-in performance that helps make the ridiculous plot believable. The real charm, though, comes from the very real chemistry between Lewis & Lee who have a palatable sexual charge to their relationship. Rated: 3/4 Mar 13, 2022 Full Review Jason Shawhan Nashville Scene Slight and sweet but filling like the finest of home-baked carbs, The Christmas Setup might even become (dare I risk my grumpy cred and say it) part of my holiday routine. Sep 9, 2021 Full Review Esme Mazzeo Tell-Tale TV Lifetime's The Christmas Setup does more than finally provide the LBGTQIA community representation in the beloved genre of TV Christmas movies. It does so in the most authentic way possible. Rated: 4.5/5 Dec 15, 2020 Full Review Read all reviews

Corey J the only criteria these should have is: is it as bad as straight Christmas movies? the answer is yes. run of the mill Christmas movie, fun and very cheesy Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/23/23 Full Review robert p The first LGBTQ-themed Christmas film ever broadcast by Lifetime, the film stars Ben Lewis as Hugo, an uptight New York City attorney who comes home with his best friend Madelyn (Ellen Wong) to visit his mother Kate (Fran Drescher) for Christmas, and is forced to consider what he really wants in life when he reconnects with his high school crush Patrick (Blake Lee) just as he is offered a promotion to his firm's office in London. Lifetime is playing it cool, allowing only for 2 kisses on film, thus my *3 & 1/2" star rating!!! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Such a beautiful movie! Not overly cheesy like so many hallmark and lifetime movies, perfect for curling up with some hot coco on the couch. I told my fiancé it's going to be a new tradition. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member I love this movie. Just make you happy, and so sweet you need to brush your teeth after watching it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member Queer representation in an honest, unforced way and a plot sure to give you the warm fuzzies :) Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Such a sweet movie.
