Wow this was just terrible to watch. The overall concept of a jewel heist was ok, but none of the characters are likable, especially Roth who is constantly drinking in every shot like a ranging alcoholic, while Thurman and the other characters just seem to get lost in one bad scene after another

This film comes off as an asylum knock off of a Tarantino film, trying so hard to emulate the edge and dialogue of a Tarantino film without holding any of the substance of one. The cinematography is often aimless, random zooms and pans are meant to copy the fast fashionable nearly comic book style but don't direct your eyes toward anything of note, they add to the feeling of a bootleg film. The characters curse like sailors to the point that you become entirely desensitized to anything they are saying, eventually it just turns into simlish in your head as you stare slack-jawed at what at some point was perhaps intended to be a film with a story.

Film che vuole essere divertente ed irriverente e che invece riesce solamente ad essere bizzarro e fastidioso. I personaggi sono piatti nelle loro caratteristiche, grossolane e bizzarre, in cui sguazzano e compaiono durante tutte le scene. La trama non è interessante e si passa la maggior parte del tempo a domandarsi cosa spinga i personaggi ad agire così. Nessuno è credibile e l'empatia è sotto i tacchi delle scarpe; fa male al cuore vedere certi attori ridotti a fare ruoli di questo tipo.

Uma Thurman was a 5, but the film was so boring and non-sense i had to give 1.5, because even though there are great actors in it, i cound't finish and never laughed. The film is a "Comedy", but is it really? ... I think is not.

This flick "The Brits are coming" (also called "The Con is on") should in fact be called "The Brits are lame"!! With such an outstanding cast it's never boring enough to actually switch it off, but calling this a comedy is like calling Sylvester Stallone an actor. There are a few moments when your lips might split to a slight grin, but that's about it. A script like this would have become a comic eternal jewel in the hands of greats like Landis or Zucker, but this director turned this movie into something that one wants to forget in an instant as it expresses absolutely nothing! 2 1/2 of 10 points
