It’s ghoulish, it’s not particularly good, and it’s the latest entry in the streaming playbook of goosing viewership by pitting audiences against each other. Go to Full Review

The manipulation is visible from the start — you can practically see the filmmakers deciding when to flip each card. Go to Full Review

It occasionally suffers from the same problem as many modern true-crime documentaries, however, by stretching ambiguity for suspense even when the facts appear overwhelmingly clear. But at a brisk 92 minutes, it is still taut and absorbing. Go to Full Review

The story itself is an engrossing tale of coercive control and car-crash forensics. As a documentary, though, it's fairly formulaic in its approach and lacks the incisive analysis of the best of the genre. Go to Full Review

Ultimately, The Crash is harrowing, gut-wrenching and sombre -- a meticulous examination of a toxic romance that ended in irreversible devastation. Go to Full Review

Santiago M @macias111 1h This documentary while being informative and dramatic with its initial build up of having you believe things were a mystery before shedding light to the suspicions of it being Makenzie’s wrong doing and her being at fault were great. But then it does seem like it drags out and you don’t really get a lot of the information that is circulating and actually out there for this case, there’s a mountain of information that it never touches up on. It basically skims through it and focuses on being dramatic and not actually doing a well informed deep dive on everything having to do with this case. Left this movie with a lot of questions that got answered from other sources that dove into this case while also receiving information that wasn’t shared in this movie. Obviously it would’ve been a much longer movie had they share everything and the time frame for everything that comes out is lengthy but this documentary just does a poor job of execution. See more Johnny D @RT45242996 Jun 18 This documentary is crazy! It starts like any other but then takes a crazy turn. This girl reminded me of my high school gf, crazy and constantly seeking attention. I felt the documentary was taking a deeper dive into teenage psyche and it’s terrifying. I will watch again and maybe even again. See more Hayleigh P. @haytay.shows22 Jun 14 Honestly I think she is guilty. It was a good documentary though. She is gorgeous I gotta give her that too. See more Katie M @RT32948229 Jun 14 I saw someone say that this is one of their favorite documentaries. But there really needs to be a different name for these kinds of "true crime documentaries," because they are low-effort, cash-grabbing, sensationalized non-fiction movies. They are just ok. This non-fiction movie is just ok. Despite having the family members of those who lost their loved ones, the film is exploitative and lacks substance. I am begging anyone who considers this to be one of their favorite documentaries to please watch literally any other documentary not in the true crime genre. See more Ryland C @Rycordes1 Jun 12 I don’t watch a lot of documentaries like…at all. But the reason why I sat down and watched this one is be because I legit saw a YouTube video on this case months before this released from the channel Dr. Insanity (Shoutout to Dr. Insanity and to those of you who has never heard of his channel before, I’d recommend you check out his videos) anyways I watched this because I thought it dig REALLY deep into the case and see what differences were there compared to the doc and the YouTube video and my god..they left out SO MUCH information. Like a lot. One of the things this doc didn’t mention at all was that the girl was actually PRACTICING the route that crash took place at SEVEN TIMES! She was trying to practice how the crash will happen. Also, they didn’t even mention that that kid in the red jacket was actually her ex. I could list everything else this doc left out but they left out so much that I would just recommend watching the YouTube video for more detail. See more Read all reviews
