Funny and kind of silly French period film (takes place in 1935). Modesty implausible plot but if you suspend disbelief it works. Excellent ensemble cast with two leads.

Ozon is a child. The actresses are strong but the adaptation of the play and the theatrical devices are unserious in a distracting way. I would not recommend this film.

A frothy silly French farce. I particularly enjoyed this type of light distraction that makes me smile and laugh in light of the troubling times I am facing here in the US. A light French delight with an established star (Isabelle Huppert) and two young wonderful actresses was just the ticket for me. This feels like a modern French version of American screwball comedies of the 1940s.
