Judy T I thought it was hilarious, an out-there send-up mockumentary! You start out thinking the main character is just obnoxious, but end up loving her. Charming. Fun. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 11/30/22 Full Review Google At best the Daphne Project was amusing. However, the vast majority of the film felt as though the comedic elements were moreso foul jabs that did not land well. With a very fast-paced timeline, there was little to no development to effectively allow for jokes that would have been funny to be significantly funny. Tina Kakadelis Beyond the Cinerama Dome The Daphne Project is La La Land’s weird, non-musical younger sibling. Both are about the pursuit of a career that’s unrealistic, yet someone has to do it. Someone has to be the one to make people laugh and Crews does it in stride. Rated: 5/5 Jul 24, 2023 Full Review Alan Ng Film Threat If you enjoy cringe-comedies, you’re going to love and loathe (in a good way) The Daphne Project. Though the film is shot like The Office, the comedy leans more toward Curb Your Enthusiasm, if Larry David was a black social justice warrior. Jul 27, 2022 Full Review Carla Hay Culture Mix The Daphne Project might have been a well-intentioned satire of social justice warriors and performing arts cliques, but everything about this mockumentary looks like a substandard student film. The acting is terrible and just not funny. Jul 24, 2022 Full Review Read all reviews
