Steve L As a fan of old 1970's sitcoms of my childhood I enjoyed this "behind-the-scenes" look at some of the issues and darker side of the beloved series' four-year run. Sure it's a bit over-dramatized for TV but it was what I expected and I wasn't disappointed. Kavovit and McDowell particularly shine in their roles. As the title suggests, the main focus is on teen idol Cassidy's growing pains and discomfort with his on-screen persona. This aired around the same time as the competing made-for-TV movie "Come On Get Happy: The Partridge Family Story" based on the recollections and told from the viewpoint of series co-star Danny Bonaduce.
