Leah Pickett Chicago Reader In this low-key Argentine drama, a live-in maid from Chile (the spellbinding Paulina García) faces a new chapter in life. Sep 25, 2018 Full Review Scott Marks San Diego Reader This is one of the great screen romances in recent memory. Rated: 4/5 May 18, 2018 Full Review Robert Abele Los Angeles Times "The Desert Bride" is nothing complicated, but in its unforced humanity, visually poetic landscapes and agreeably metaphoric storytelling suggests the intimate pleasures of a well-turned short story. May 10, 2018 Full Review Brigid Presecky FF2 Media The storytelling, cinematography and performances make a striking impact. Rated: 4.5/5 Aug 19, 2019 Full Review Mattie Lucas From the Front Row A hushed and restrained portrait of grief and confusion that finds, if only for a moment, a respite for a weary and lonely heart who discovers that it's never too late to start over. Rated: 3.5/4 Jun 3, 2019 Full Review Frank Ochieng ScreenAnarchy This low-key, noteworthy soul-searching romancer is undoubtedly profound and passionate in its depiction. Refreshingly, Desert Bride's ultimate payoff is its willingness to grasp the consciousness of aging womanhood once resigned to its stagnant confines Rated: 3/4 Nov 20, 2018 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member Quiet film set in Argentina. A nuanced performance from the superb Chilean actress Paulina Garcia, whose performance in "Gloria" was very powerful. The interplay with veteran actor Claudio Rissi works well here, and their acting carries the movie along so that I remained engaged and interested despite its methodical pacing. Not everything works here, like some confusing flashbacks and a so-so finale, but overall I liked the film. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member A road adventure that last a correct time for the limited conflict behind the characters. Convincing acting, no so convincing situations, gave me the perception of a contemplative movie of the life of simple people. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Read all reviews
