The respective storylines have plenty of human drama, and the friendship between the women is a strong theme, but the promise of a look inside the pressure-cooker world of elite sport is only partly fulfilled. Go to Full Review

The Edge is a compelling story that will feel familiar with anyone who has competed at the high school or college level. Go to Full Review

Emily K @EmilyKristopher 18h An absolute slay for the Australian film scene and gorgeous debut for director Jane Larkin! A wild look into the elite athlete scene and the crazy discipline required to make it to the top. (Something very satisfying about watching a bunch of badass women training their asses off while I eat chips on the couch). It’s got drama! It’s got hot people running really fast! Also scandal! Quite a bit of scandal! Loved it. Give it a watch and support Aussie films! 😌🕺 See more Steph L @Stephkate 4d The Edge nails what it actually feels like to train, compete, and live in your own head as an athlete. The pressure, the doubt, the grind, it all felt real. Powerful and really well done. See more Alexzandria D @Alex_deeon Jan 10 I loved how this film centred around three co-stars rather than a single lead, each representing a different sport and the unique struggles that come with it. Watching their individual journeys unfold felt incredibly real and refreshing. As a female athlete myself, I found pieces of myself in each of them and deeply connected to the way their characters evolved over time. The film beautifully captures how passionate we can become about the sports we love, sometimes to the point where they define us. But it also serves as an important reminder that we are more than our performance, more than our discipline. There is so much else that shapes who we are and what truly matters in life. This movie genuinely made me stop and reflect on that. See more Patricia L @pal001 Jan 10 Loved this film. A very good watch. See more Kalani M @KalaniM Jan 6 This film is incredibly authentic. The female leads are all well rounded real characters who participate in their respective sports outside of the film at elite levels. Each character and story is given a believable script which reflects the Australian experience lending to the films realness. I love how Larkin shows not only the highs of elite athletes but sheds light on the dark side, including how at the end of many careers a person is left questioning, "who am I outside of this?". I hope Larkin continues to create in this space. This was a refreshing and engaging watch. See more Cullen A @Cullen2801 Jan 6 The Edge offers a raw, realistic look at the sacrifices and inner battles of elite athletes. The lead performances felt natural, the pacing is deliberate, and the film succeeds by focusing on character development. See more Read all reviews
