Audience Member I would recommend any competition documentary. Wether its playing Donkey Kong, arm wrestling, magic, air hockey or ragtime piano playing you will find some characters. It is always interesting to have look into people who dedicate so much time into a given craft. This is not the first of this type I would recommend but still good. It's mostly a by-the-book competition documentary where ordinary people -- office assistant, computer programmer, machine operator, librarian, author, high-school student -- showcase extraordinary talent; in this case reviving remarkably complex pieces of ragtime music (from late 1800s-1920s). The difference with this contest is that the "competition" is more of a celebration of music amongst the entrants...like a COMICON for ragtime piano music. The result is a happy movie with a tremendous amount of heart. I left smiling and oddly enough, feeling patriotic. It's nice. It's wholesome.
