Joe C This movie ain't your average horror flick, it's a tense thriller that keeps you on edge. Picture this: four friends hitting up a cabin in Martha's Vineyard for New Year's Eve, but soon enough, drama's in the air. Tensions rise, and bam, one of them bites the dust. The whodunit kicks off, with characters vanishing and trust hitting rock bottom. No spoilers, but the killer? Total shocker for me. The last shots and that soundtrack? Straight-up haunting, a directorial move that hits deep. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/16/24 Full Review Audience Member The Eve has some nice widescreen photography and good performances from all four leads. Check it out!! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member The Eve is a tense horror/thriller film that keeps you guessing. Four friends go to a cabin out in Martha's Vineyard for New Year's Eve, but tensions arise between the foursome, escalating until one of them turns up dead. The whodunit progresses as characters go missing and their suspicions lead them to turn on each other. I don't want to spoil anything, but the killer was definitely a surprise to me. The last shots of the film and the accompanying soundtrack was a particularly haunting directorial touch. The Eve is a well done indie horror/thriller and definitely worth checking out. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member I was pleasantly surprised by how tastefully (and ominously) this movie unfolds. Director Filippi and writer Bass really let the characters develop and allow scenes to breathe, qualities that are especially refreshing in this genre. The actors really bolster the cause, giving grounded and vulnerable performances that allow you to quickly become invested in their lives and what happens to them. I don't want to inadvertently spoil anything, so I won't get into the plot. I highly recommend THE EVE if you're looking for an engaging horror/thriller film with compelling and believable characters.
