The Fable delivers a mixed bag of themes and energy that ultimately never meshes. Its over-the-top slapstick humor undercuts the heaviest moments in the movie, making them feel cheap and mishandled.

The long, somewhat sluggish comic thriller director Kan Eguchi gets out of this manga adaptation has scattered laughs and lots and lots of killing, much of that played as comedy, too. We are not that amused.

If you have read and followed the manga, you will see their faithful take of this film. Though they took some liberties here and there to fit the 2 hr period. But overall, The action, story is all there.

Absolutely AWESOME - very real - execution excellent - great story - acting, action FIRST RATE. Highly recommend. What I liked was no BS - great story line which leads to The Killer Who Doesn't Kill - totally entertaining - love the Spirit of this piece.
