Synopsis
In this adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe's classic story, Philip Winthrop (Tom Tryon) visits his fiancée, Madeleine Usher, at her family home. Upon arriving at the dilapidated mansion, he meets Madeleine's brother, Roderick (Marshall Thompson), a tormented young man who warns Philip to break his engagement and leave immediately. Meeting with Madeleine, Philip finds her strangely remote and obsessed with the house's previous occupants, and begins to suspect her brother is keeping her prisoner.
