      Matt M Unbelievably icky to watch. Clearly made to capitalize on the social media phenomenon. Using reporters to basically tell the story was so gross. They're all soulless. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/05/23 Full Review Michele L Almost your typical Lifetime fodder, but at least this one is a true crime docuseries. The actor playing Laundrie is a good likeness to him, and the way he plays Laundrie in-character is, from all I've heard in the media, pretty accurate, dark side/nice side included. The actor playing Gabby Petito, however, is all wrong. From her height, to her use of makeup, (at least in the beginning before they decided to hit the road and became a dedicated "van-life" couple), and the "sure of herself" attitude she has. The real Gabby was not as pretty as the actor playing her, but she had natural beauty, and a sweet, quiet, shy way about her. This woman playing her looks like she's Gabby's older, and more worldly, cousin. The actor who plays Gabby's mom looks instead like a younger sister, and she sure isnt a Gen X-er. At least the storyline is pretty well done and it hasn't been re-made a dozen times to air on a dozen channels until it loses all resemblance to the real, original crime story. Good for a quiet evening in, or a middle-of-the-night watch when insomnia hits. You don't have to think too much when watching it, and it's interesting to hear/see the whole story in a concise timeline, all at once, instead of in the bits and pieces of it you get from the media. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/31/23 Full Review Mirah R I watched the Gabby Peitito Lifetime movie. It's been criticized for being "too soon" because her family is stil grieving. I hope it was not hard for them. I may be very wrong but IMO it was done delicately, tastefully and very respectfully - absolutely no victim blaming - and not sensationalized. It was followed by commentary by some of her friends (which seems to indicate that they were ok with it). It's an important movie that hopefully would help others in abusive relationships recognize the signs. The body cam video of the police stop should be used as training for every police force to better identify who is the abuser and who is not in DV calls. Professionals in the field of coercive controlling behavior also shared important insights. In all, I thought it was tasteful and prsented as a public service.
