Gambler Jeff Hayes (Johnny Mack Brown) moves to a town plagued by extortion and corruption. As soon as he takes his business to the local saloon, the gang responsible for the town's problems approaches him, demanding payment for his protection. Despite advice to the contrary, Jeff refuses to give in and decides to rally the town against them. Enlisting the help of friends Jerry (Bobby Nelson) and Betty (Iris Meredith), Jeff tries to stop the gang's misdeeds, but soon finds he's in over his head.
