A largely underwhelming reminder of the potential thematic richness of this type of cinema, and of how difficult it is to successfully pull off. Go to Full Review

It has a reasonably solid, if not blazingly original, premise, a more-than-solid cast, made with enough style to make for a reasonably diverting 100 minutes, but it never quite manages to be anything more than that. Go to Full Review

The whole endeavor feels, unavoidably, like streaming detritus, the type of film that litters VOD menus to tempt bored audiences to click because they recognize the stars in it. Go to Full Review

In better films, most notably “Jackie Brown,” a seemingly random chain of events that inevitably comes together can very well work, but in “The Get Out,” patience wears thin as the minutes tick by while waiting for that moment to finally arrive. Go to Full Review

A reminder of the standing note to not directly reference better movies you would rather be watching than this stale Elmore Leonard wannabe. In this case, Point Break. (Not the remake.) Go to Full Review

Chris T @RT85906111 2d Not his best but still entertaining. Worth a watch See more dave E @caseyeisenman 3d I love Crowe's movies and this film was a good one! The acting, scenery and story were great and it had just enough action and humor to satisfy me. See more Rob A @rob_vocado 3d I really enjoyed this movie. The story felt original, which is getting harder to find, and it kept me interested from start to finish. Russell Crowe gave a great performance, the acting was solid all around, and the action was exciting without being over the top. What stood out most to me was the atmosphere. It had a tense, gritty feel that fit the story really well. If you’re looking for something a little different from the usual action thriller, I’d definitely recommend giving it a watch. This take nothing away from Russell Crowe , who is a very good actor See more Read all reviews
