This is a ridiculous and spectacularly schlocky film – but the fact that it (or at the very least some of the actors) knows it’s silly adds a degree of entertainment.

This is objectively one of the worst movies I have ever seen, I have no idea why I watched it until the end. I would have written this as a bored 14yo in English class. I admit I did watch it to the end. In a bad way.

The Girl in the Pool tries to be a twisty suburban thriller but mostly flounders. Freddie Prinze Jr. gives it his all, but the plot feels recycled and the suspense fizzles. A few fun moments, sure - but overall, it’s more puddle than pool. 5 out of 10 🤙 from this guy.

Script and directing was really sub par. The main character stumbled from scene to scene like he was suffering from shell shock. All the character interactions were annoying, not remotely subtle and totally phoney. The story felt contrived and wholly unsatisfying. The ending fell flat. Just not a lot of positive things I can say about this effort.

Anyone giving this movie 5 stars, or anything close, is a plant, insider, and/or a person directly involved in the movie. In other words, their review is a lie. All of the people saying this movie was terrible, had an awful script, that FPZ was overacting and his character was ridiculous... these people are telling you the truth. I kept watching because I thought the movie would turn around, possibly redeem itself. Nope. Never happened. Just got worse the longer it went.
