Claudia Puig FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) A fairly enjoyable documentary. Cheerful and intriguing. Sep 20, 2019 Full Review Marc Savlov Austin Chronicle The filmmakers amusingly cross-cut between The Great Passion Play and drag queens... and a minor tangent involving infamous homophobe and citrus fanatic Anita Bryant is downright heartwarming. Rated: 3.5/5 Mar 8, 2019 Full Review Gary Goldstein Los Angeles Times There's much to explore and dissect about the intriguing world that directors Michael Palmieri and Donal Mosher spotlight in their documentary "The Gospel of Eureka," but the film, strangely flabby at just 73 minutes, leaves us wanting. Mar 7, 2019 Full Review David-Elijah Nahmod Bay Area Reporter What the people of Eureka Springs eloquently illustrate is what the world could be like, if only we would let it be so. May 29, 2020 Full Review Caden Mark Gardner Hyperallergic The Gospel of Eureka subverts the outsider gaze by using Eureka Spring's local color to demonstrate how its Christian and queer populations are more intertwined than divided. Feb 26, 2020 Full Review Lisa Trifone Third Coast Review One of the film's only shortcomings is its brief length; Palmieri and Mosher would've been well served to dig deeper into the lives of some of the performers at either production. Rated: 3/4 May 30, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member The Gospel of Eureka is a ray of hope in a world that is often devoid of hope. It teaches that there is no divinity in hatred or bigotry and that there is no shame or sin in loving someone. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member Complexity and playfulness at a point where christianity and queerness collide. work through your issues with gospel drag, perform christianity just as theatrically. If you want to pray away the gay, you better bring your Leviticus and pray away your bacon! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Read all reviews
