It does have some funny moments but instead of being the R-rated comedy like its predecessor it is more of a dark crime thriller than a comedy. While they try to do something new by having Doug not missing they still go with the old tropes like Tracy calling Phil. Btw why is she doing that? Because if this were a true copy and paste it would be Lauren calling him and not Tracy. Another gripe is how they make Lauren's teen brother go missing instead of the groom who is Stu. Doug went missing the first time around so you'd think that Stu now would go missing, right?, right? Nope! The chemistry between Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, and Zach Galifianakis continues to carry the movie, and there are just enough absurd twists and shocking moments to keep it engaging. The comedy still works, even if it lacks freshness. If you loved the first film and want more of the same, this sequel delivers exactly that, no more, no less.
