      What to know

      Critics Consensus

A crueler, darker, raunchier carbon copy of the first installment, The Hangover Part II lacks the element of surprise -- and most of the joy -- that helped make the original a hit. Read critic reviews

      Movie Info

Two years after the disastrous events in Las Vegas, it is now Stu's (Ed Helms) turn to walk down the aisle. Since his bride is from Thailand, Stu decides to hold the wedding there. Desperately hoping to avoid the mayhem of Doug's (Justin Bartha) bachelor party, Stu chooses what he thinks will be a safe option: an alcohol-free, prewedding brunch. But this being Thailand, and with Phil (Bradley Cooper) and Alan (Zach Galifianakis) again in attendance, anything can happen.

The first film was the bomb, and it's hard to try to be with the same level as it was. But definitely worth-seeing for Bradley Cooper.

The Hangover Part II certainly isn't bad, but like many comedy movies, it falls under the curse of being too similar to the first entry. The first entry was decent at best, and part II doesn't offer a whole lot new that we haven't seen before. It is serviceable, but ultimately, it is a huge disappointment for fans of the original.

Pathetic. And I don't mean just the characters. This film's a mess.

Its humor is grotesque and its writing is tired.
