Ryan Gilbey Guardian What's missing is any persuasive comic force or vision to justify the film's place in cinemas rather than in petrol station bargain bins, or on bank-holiday afternoon TV. Rated: 2/5 Dec 20, 2013 Full Review Tom Huddleston Time Out This has big laughs (if not nearly enough of them) and wild ideas - provided you're tuned into Hill's idiosyncratic brand of slyly subversive, surreally silly seaside slapstick. Rated: 3/5 Dec 20, 2013 Full Review Jason Best Movie Talk Viewers who don't care for Hill's brand of wacky madness probably won't make it past the opening mobility-scooter race... but even fans will have to admit that the story runs out of gas long before the Blackpool Tower looms into view. Rated: 2/5 May 4, 2014 Full Review Graham Young Birmingham Mail The Happy Pill Movie would more accurately describe what is a uniquely British and deliriously silly excuse to sit back eating pick 'n' mix toffees as garishly coloured as Harry's house. Rated: 3/5 Dec 27, 2013 Full Review Neil Smith Total Film Awash with silliness - gun-toting chickens, performing Dachshunds, Jim Broadbent in charlady drag - yet weirdly bereft of mirth ... Rated: 1/5 Dec 23, 2013 Full Review Mark Adams Screen International A broad and resolutely silly film that has moments of oddball pleasure but in the end feels like an extended series of skits that eventually run out of steam. James H I never thought I would spend a Friday night staying up to watch “The Harry Hill movie.” It changed my life. I went through phases of asking “why am I doing this to myself?” Or I was asking “how does it have a 2 million budget?” The Chicken gun fight and the nuclear hamster were personal highlights of mine. However, the ending made it worth it. This film should be classed as narcotic contraband when it enters the UK from overseas. My therapist has a new topic for discussion. I found this movie in a free dvd pile inside an old UK telephone box. It was free, yet I want my money back. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 05/17/25 Full Review Dragon B A very cute surreal comedy with a good heart and very self aware. Not meant to be taken seriously at all but still enjoyable. Probably better now than when it came out coz the world needs this kind of movie in 2025. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/10/25 Full Review The I Greatest movie of all time Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/26/24 Full Review John R I love this move, it makes me throw up a lot but I don't mind. My dad likes to tickle me sometimes and then I sometimes move to watch this movie so much :D. The police said that my neighbour is not allowed to tickle me anymore but I love the movie a lot Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/26/24 Full Review MICHAEL G finally a comedian who doesn't swear. amazing. very, very funny. But his jokes are very old. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/18/23 Full Review r 9 Don't get me wrong, this is a pretty poor film. However, it definitely improves on what you'd expect from this sorta genre; e.g. 'Keith Lemon: The Film' and/or 'Mrs. Brown's Boys D'Movie'.
