Audience Member I chose this based on the cover image when it was just called the Haunting of Woodland Hills. It's a veeeery misleading cover in the sense that it looks like shit is going to be crazy. The craziest part of this movie is that somehow the corpse is able to tolerate the main character's ridiculous ramblings for the entirety of the movie. The acting is stale, the dialogue is boring and the plot is a joke. I have learned since watching it that the movie was retitled to "Vacant Lot" with a new cover image as well. The new cover does better to convey the vibe of the movie though and if those changes were in place originally, I can safely say I would've had no problem avoiding this movie (as should you also now be able to visually tell from the cover that this movie is not good). Luckily I have plenty of free time available due to the viral outbreak or else I would be very upset that I wasted an hour and a half on this dull movie. Despite starting this film thinking it's a different genre than the one it is, I'm not judging it to standards set by genres. I stayed with it and followed through to the end and am judging it based on the experience it provided as a movie. Avoid this movie at all cost, you have been warned. Loved the vulnerability of the lead and the creativity of the evolving story in the vacant house. Enjoyed Casper's work and looking forward to seeing what he does next.
