Audience Member A unnecessary film. The Hunted feels like a movie that should have been a short instead of a full length feature film at 90 minutes. The movie starts off with inserting you right into the middle of the action with migrants on a boat when it capsizes. Soon the migrants are rescued by Europeans another boat who take them in and feed/shelter them. Soon they realize that not everything is as it seems. They learn the Europeans are going to hunt them for sport. You can try and make out what the film is trying to say here but never quite really gains enough traction. Instead what we get is our the migrants running while being shot at constantly. The movie is difficult to watch with it's content and feels unnecessary. I am giving The Hunter a low 1 star out of 5. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 09/23/24 Full Review Big I Spoiler free They jumped into the action right off the bat, which when done properly can be very fun. In this case, it wasn't. The main character, or the characters we are meant to like are given no care. They make stupid decisions and aren't given much of a back story. It's hard to root for characters you don't connect with. It makes hard to sympathize with the characters after they make poor decisions. There was more character development with the "bad guys" than with the "good guys." were a few continuity errors, but I don't really mind. I don't mind mistakes like that unless it affects the plot. Speaking of plot, there was plot points introduced throughout the movie that were never followed through. When making a character believable when acting there is something called OOTS (objective, obstacle, tactics, stakes). Most characters had an objective, and an obstacle. The tactics were somewhat addressed. But the stakes didn't feel high. It was so predictable for the audience, it made for a boring watch. I think the actors were good, just the actions and direction it's self lacked Rated 1 out of 5 stars 04/07/24 Full Review Sara R I tried. I tried so hard to like this. It was truly terribly. By the end we were yelling at the TV. None of it made sense, we didn't care about the characters, my husband called bullshit on the weapons…. could've been great, tough watch.
