Kimmy D this was a really engaging indie thriller. I didn't know what to expect and was shocked to learn this movie set in the NY comedy world would take such dark turns!! The characters all feel very real, like the actors are playing heightened versions of themselves. I've taken improv and was delighted to see this satirical thriller's take on the ambitious. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Whoa! Like a film that grabs you by the shirt and doesn't let go til the credits! Had me early in, great performances, cringe moments, and awkward comedy! *taken from my Letterbox review* Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member I enjoyed this. It was like a mix between Taxi Driver and Crashing. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member I really enjoyed this movie. It was refreshing to see a story about the actual struggles of alt comics in NYC. Also the spot light of mental health within that community was very compelling. Very well done! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member "The Improviser" is a cringe-fest of a thrill ride!! I was intrigued by the Film Threat review and decided to check it out. I was definitely pleasantly surprised. The main character is a raw nerve of ambition and we're along for this tragic ride. The supporting cast was also pitch perfect in their roles. Having done improv I really felt the tension and desperation in those shows, haha. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member Great performances and direction. It felt like a modern version of The King of Comedy. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Read all reviews
