      The Inbetweeners 2

      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

The hapless Inbetweeners reunite for another raunchy adventure that will satisfy fans' appetite for laughs, but a downturn in plausibility along with an uptick in mean-spiritedness makes for less fun than their previous exploits.

Evan Williams The Australian The dialogue is relentlessly fast but never funny, unless you consider four-letter words funny in themselves. Rated: 1/5 Aug 28, 2014 Full Review Philippa Hawker The Age (Australia) The focus remains firmly on the delusional quartet, confidently drawn and depicted. Things fall away around them, however: the supporting characters are less deftly written, and the female characters are particularly disposable. Rated: 2.5/5 Aug 22, 2014 Full Review Deborah Ross The Spectator The fact is, if you are a fan of The Inbetweeners, as I am, you will like this, as it's more of the same, and if you're not, then you simply won't. Aug 14, 2014 Full Review Stefan Pape Common Sense Media This British comedy sequel is a rare thing in that it's a TV sitcom that's been turned into a movie and actually worked. Rated: 4/5 Nov 9, 2021 Full Review Dan Brightmore NME (New Musical Express) We've all made prats out of ourselves, but The Inbetweeners turn it into a laugh out loud art form. Sit tight and you'll be rewarded. Rated: 4/5 Jun 16, 2021 Full Review Rachel Brook One Room With A View After a strong start The Inbetweeners 2 adds tasteless animal abuse and rape jokes to the mix. Bill F If you like The Inbetweeners (like any self respecting immature adult must do), then this will certainly hit the spot. Some brilliant laugh out loud moments and Simon Bird as the hapless Will steals the show as always. Killjoys and PC warriors, don't bother! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/28/23 Full Review colin m Inbetweener stuff done abroad. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member There's not a single laugh in here even if you're being generous. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/28/23 Full Review Audience Member The sequel that nobody thought would happen, we receive a second big screen outing for the four boys who now go backpacking in Oz. It may have had some more rude scenes from the first and kind of destroyed what a good ending the first film had but still showed very good comedy at points and fans will either be satisfied with this being the true ending to the characters or erasing this from their minds as quickly as possible, I can get why people would like/hate this picture. Still a good watch. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Not as good as its predecessor, but still great. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review jaidyn a The middle does fall into the same grotesque humour I disliked in the first film. (You have Neil killing a dolphin, Simon being accused of being a pedophile, Will being covered in poo and throwing up in a water park. And Will being mistakenly accused of rape) which brought the film down for me. But thankfully it starts off strong and picks up in the end. Overall this sequel surpasses it's predecessor with less repetitive, offensive and grotesque humour, and with ultimately funnier results.
