Critics Consensus

The Incredible Hulk may not be quite the smashing success that fans of Marvel's raging behemoth might hope for, but it offers more than enough big green action to make up for its occasionally puny narrative.

The climax is a bit of a yawn, but most of what precedes it is vigorous and sharp. Go to Full Review

Norton makes for a wiry, curious Bruce Banner. But you can tell from the film's tedium-inducing smackdowns that a different philosophy prevailed: the artificial Zen of video-game playing. Go to Full Review

That rings true of the entire movie. Jagged edges, cut corners, missed opportunities, yet somehow still charming and, in the end, workable. Go to Full Review

The "forgotten" MCU feature is now available on Disney+, and it remains an interesting if flawed vehicle for Edward Norton that might have taken the Avengers saga in a very different direction. Go to Full Review

Ray C 5h (Road to Doomsday pt. 2) The Incredible Hulk—more like the incredibly mid Hulk. I remembered this movie being way better than it actually is. It’s often considered the black sheep of the MCU, and honestly, for good reason. Some of it does work really well, though. I actually like the more grounded, less comedic tone. I appreciate the MCU’s sense of humor, but it’s refreshing to watch one where they aren’t cracking jokes every five minutes. That said, the soap-opera-style romance between Bruce and Betty is horrendous. It feels completely out of place and painfully cringe. It doesn’t help that Liv Tyler is giving what is, frankly, an abysmal performance. I like her as an actress, but she is just not good here. The action is solid—nothing great. Tim Roth is solid as the villain, and I did like the finale. Overall, it has its moments, but it’s definitely one of the weakest entries in the MCU. See more Otávio d @Otavio 5d Uma abordagem visceral e eficiente do herói. To a safe effect, it's a fast paced film with no filler. The fight scenes were exciting. See more Read all reviews
