Arun S It was a boring and frustrating watch until the backstory of the villain came into play. Last 30 mins were terrific but the film as a whole was a bore. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 12/20/24 Full Review Obi-wan K Very fun movie Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/16/24 Full Review Garrett B It contains good action scenes and importance of family Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/02/24 Full Review Luke R It’s such a good childhood film! “Where’s My Super-suit” is the funniest part! Syndrome is such an annoying villain. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/24/24 Full Review Jay W Like many Pixar movies of the time, I didn't care much for the film when it first came out. I was 14, and thought not liking movies made me...cool or something? My main critique of the time was that the film was not very funny. Most of the quotes people would say, weren't funny either. How is the lines: "Where's my super suit?" or "no capes" supposed to be funny? Through the years my perspective on the film has changed. Granted, it still isn't all that funny. But that is not the film's focus. Although Pixar has some good jokes, humor has never been why their films have been classics. The film's strengths are the characters and story. This family has a strong connection. And it is surprisingly rare to have a complete family share screentime like this in a family movie. Typically, in Disney or Pixar movies, at least one of the parents has to be dead or the villain. But no, this is a family film that actually has the whole family in it. Along with the family connection, we have an excellent connection between the hero and villain. You could argue if this is Pixar's best film, but this certainly has Pixar's best villain. In typical Pixar form, the film has great animation, music and voice acting. One extra aspect this film has going for it, would have to be its action. The setting, the scale, sound design and how the superpowers are utilized create superb sequences. It may not have been the comedic kids' movie I thought it was going to be. But it is a great action family movie. And it remains the best Fantastic 4 movie of all time. If only all animated films were this super. But in a world where every film is super, none of them would be.
