Javier F Cliche. Not logical actions or history. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/24 Full Review Sarah F How does this film, which is complete and utter drivel, have a critic score of 71% and an audience score of 83% at the time of my review? Perhaps I'm just not cool enough to understand deep, psychological thrillers about schizophrenia, or perhaps it's just a bad film. The script was bland and boring, the characters were loathsome, especially the main girl, the mother was so annoying, and honestly the overall acting was atrocious. All in all it feels like another edgy attempt at a film, which a small group of people will use to self diagnose. Wouldn't recommend. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/28/23 Full Review Jason P Absolutely dreadful. Boring. Not scary. Not interesting. Terrible plot. Incoherent script. 100% ROTTEN! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 05/14/23 Full Review Alan K Unwatchable. The score is not indicative of this movie. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/19/23 Full Review Alexandra A In short, predictable and lame. I think this movie tried to do something with a cool concept but got far too convoluted. There are many things that are implied but never come to any kind of completion or near explanation. Because it's marked unrated (at least on Hulu) there were 0 content warnings on the film, which include graphic self harm, and a very disturbing self-gratification scene that was honestly too long. The message I think they were trying to send on mental health is muddled into the supernatural aspect. Aside from the main character being shown taking medication at the end all the discussion is wrapped up in quick Google searches and brief mentions of 3 different disorders. The jumpscares weren't scary, however on a positive note the atmosphere of suspense was held pretty well throughout. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/13/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Leslie Felperin Guardian There is so much brewing in the setup that it’s a shame that the final twists and reveals are a little boilerplate. Nevertheless, A’zion holds the fort all the way to the end... Rated: 3/5 Aug 8, 2023 Full Review Steven Warner In Review Online The Inhabitant wants to be a gory whodunnit in the vein of Scream, but is so half-assed in its execution that it takes over an hour of the film’s 95-minute runtime to figure out writer Kevin Bachar’s true intent. Nov 1, 2022 Full Review Wilson Morales BlackFilmandTV.com In watching The Inhabitant, you're getting a hodgepodge of genres in one film. Directed by Jerren Lauder, there's elements of a horror film, a supernatural film and a murder mystery, but somehow it works to a satisfying degree. Rated: 3/4 Oct 24, 2022 Full Review Shawn Edwards Fox 4 Kansas City "The Inhabitant" is clever horror movie that also leans into teen angst and family drama. It’s a sophisticated murder mystery where the body count isn’t increasing for no reason in this psychological horror film that is as intelligent as it is scary. Rated: 4/5 Oct 20, 2022 Full Review Jeffrey M. Anderson Common Sense Media This silly horror thriller doesn't always work, especially toward the end, but it earns points for its complex family relations and the genuine way its troubled teen characters speak and behave. Rated: 3/5 Oct 15, 2022 Full Review Abbie Bernstein Assignment X Just when horror fans might be forgiven for wondering whether scary movies will ever again feature characters who behave reasonably, along comes THE INHABITANT.
