Jeffrey M. Anderson Common Sense Media This spending-the-night-in-a-creepy-mansion horror thriller falls resoundingly flat due to its one-note characters, forced plot twists, and absurd behavior of the most ridiculously clichéd nature. Rated: 2/5 Sep 1, 2024 Full Review Dennis Schwartz Dennis Schwartz Movie Reviews The intriguing premise never reaches its potential. Rated: C Jul 22, 2024 Full Review Aaron Neuwirth We Live Entertainment Director Alejandro Brugués tries to get mileage out of the house and his more screen-ready stars (Gunton, Peyton List, Briana Middleton, David Walton), but there’s a real blandness that comes from both limited means and a lack of imagination. Rated: 4/10 Jul 18, 2024 Full Review Joe Lipsett Bloody Disgusting The Inheritance has a pervasive “half-way there” vibe throughout. For every element that works, there’s another that doesn’t and the film ultimately plays like a paint by numbers pastiche of other (often better) horror films. Rated: 3/5 Jul 16, 2024 Full Review Frank Swietek One Guy's Opinion While there’s considerable stylishness on display here, and it’s nice to see Gunton play a larger role than usual, this is a horror thriller that ultimately unravels disappointingly. Rated: C- Jul 15, 2024 Full Review Ferdosa Abdi Screen Rant Despite its derivative nature, The Inheritance could have been very enjoyable if the script was stronger. Audience Member Very cliche and boring. Almost comical how bad this movie was😂 Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/25 Full Review Sean D Very poor results, considering it starts with a great concept and setting. The first twist makes no sense, and the second twist you can see coming a mile away. Not scary at all either. Total waste of Bob Gunton's talents Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/04/25 Full Review Nathan B What could have been a interesting premise is ruined by poor acting and bad script. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/03/25 Full Review D 7 I wanted a movie on in the background while I multitask. I couldn't even have this on for that purpose it was that bad. Rather have TV off. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 12/30/24 Full Review House of L Was as fun as Ready or not or Would You Rather. Honestly don’t understand the hate on this film. To me it was just as fun as those 2 which are laudably rated as awesome. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/29/24 Full Review Marie S Best movie I’ve seen since the conjuring series.
