Amy Nicholson New York Times For wuxia fans unconvinced by the shift from Buddhism to the Bible, Sarnet inserts a reading of Matthew 14:26 to remind us that walking on water is a skill shared by both Jet Li and Jesus. Feb 23, 2024 Full Review Charles Lyons-Burt Slant Magazine Writer-director Rainer Sarnet’s deliriously weird The Invisible Fight would be irksome if it weren’t crafted so lovingly and with a charming earnestness. Rated: 2.5/4 Feb 17, 2024 Full Review Peter Debruge Variety It’s a wacky and frequently nonsensical mish-mosh of elements that don’t quite add up, and yet, the absurdist shock of seeing such incongruous ingredients forced together is typically enough to spark laughter. Aug 24, 2023 Full Review Joshua Polanski Boston Hassle It’s difficult to describe what exactly this film is about for the same reason it’s hard to pin the tail on the piñata donkey while blindfolded: there’s a lack of vision to make sense of the whole thing. Jul 4, 2024 Full Review Kevin Wight The Wee Review Blissfully silly but way too long multi-genre mash-up Rated: 3 Jun 2, 2024 Full Review Chris Sawin Bounding Into Comics The Invisible Fight has an amusing concept with a clunky and exaggerated execution. The aspect that entices you rides shotgun to something far less exciting but likely much more grounded in reality. Rated: 2/5 Mar 5, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews
