After a top-secret experiment goes wrong, a hyper-intelligent invisible raptor escapes the lab and begins wreaking havoc in the surrounding neighborhood. A premise this bonkers sounds like a spoof, especially since there are so many references to Jurassic Park. From music cues to name dropping Steven Spielberg, The Invisible Raptor wears its influences on its sleeve. It is not a full-on parody, however.

I honestly can’t figure out where the positive reviews are coming from. This is the worst movie I’ve ever seen, and not in a good cheesy sci-fi way. It’s not funny, it’s not entertaining, it’s an hour too long… it’s just bad in every way. I don’t get how people can give this movie anything other than 1 star, I really don’t. It’s like they simultaneously tried too hard and didn’t try at all. It’s nothing like Sharknado and not even remotely close to the same level.

I'm not a big fan of dumb-fun movies, but this was surprisingly hilarious. It knows what it is and never strays from it. A goofy homage to classic 80s/90s monster movies with an impressive cast of "hey it's that guy" actors who actually have the comedic talent to make the jokes land. Sure the plot is dumb and the monster is IMPOSSIBLY smart, but I actually had a lot of fun watching it. If you're look for something not serious that tickles your nostalgia, give it a chance.
