Nell Minow Movie Mom The movie shifts in subject and tone to focus on marital issues between Angelina and Vincenzo and then shifts abruptly into sentimental drama. Somehow by that point we still feel connected to the family and the conclusion is genuinely touching. Rated: B- Apr 13, 2025 Full Review Rick Bentley KGET-TV (Bakersfield, CA) What ends up being the most interesting part of the film is the casting of Estes. This is not a typical role for the actor and he brings some life to the film. It just isn’t enough. Rated: C Apr 17, 2025 Full Review Jennie Kermode Eye for Film Breslin, as so often, is the standout. Rated: 3.5/5 Apr 11, 2025 Full Review Patrick McDonald HollywoodChicago.com Typical Italian tropes (food, loudness) are mitigated by deft comic performances, especially from veteran Lanie Kazan and the grown-up Abigail Breslin. The heart of the story is a reminder that there is an expiration date on family and what they give us. Rated: 3.5/5 Apr 9, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

Bruno A The Italians is a heartfelt and thoroughly enjoyable film. It offers an authentic portrayal of life, love, and the complexities of relationships. At its core, it's a story about about family, forgiveness, and the emotional ties that bind us. The film masterfully balances raw, gut-wrenching moments with genuine joy, making for an emotionally rich experience. Every line feels purposeful and genuine, and the cast is exeptionally well chosen. Each actor brings a natural chemistry that radiates from the screen. The Italians will have you laughting one moment and wiping away tears the next. It touches the heart, uplifts the spirit, and reminds us of the value of compassion. A true feel-good gem, it's both a beautiful work of art and a celebration of the human spirit. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 05/07/25 Full Review Jane d A delightful and charming film that is thoroughly enjoyable! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/04/25 Full Review Vikki N The Italians is a heartfelt triumph—a film that made me both laugh out loud and wipe away tears. From the very first scene, it draws you into the warmth, chaos, and love of an Italian-American family navigating the surprises of life, love, and tradition. Matthew Daddario shines as Nico, bringing both charm and vulnerability to his role, while Abigail Breslin is perfectly cast as Lily, the “outsider” whose presence triggers a whirlwind of emotions and revelations. But the true magic of this movie lies in how authentically it captures family dynamics. The way the characters bicker, bond, and ultimately come together feels so real—anyone with a family will see a piece of their own story in this film. The writing is sharp, the humor never feels forced, and the emotional beats land with genuine power. Director Michelle Danner has crafted something special—The Italians is a beautiful reminder of how love often comes with laughter, conflict, and healing. A must-watch. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/01/25 Full Review Michael M I could totally relate to this family. They shared good times and challenging times, but in the end family prevails.
