Slach (Boleslav Polivka) is the caretaker of an abandoned castle in modern Bohemia that is rented to well-to-do visitors during hunting seasons. Two of these visitors are the German Konig (Jiri Kodet) and his French fiancée, Regina (Chantal Poulainova), who arrive for a hunting holiday, though Slach imagines them to be a medieval king and queen and he their royal court jester. As Slach slips deeper into his fantasy, the imagined French queen grows increasingly more sadistic.
