Audience Member Absolutely loved this film only wish it was a longer film Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member One of the best movies ive ever seen.. Hands down.. If u dont get it or think its missing something then u simply want to be entertained and dont need to watch a autobiograpgy and u sat down to the wrong movie. Its real as shit and I can relate to it SO HEAVY! It does something to me everytime I watch it.. Such a beautiful movie.. Well ?ell ?ell DONE! Been trying to find a copy of it somewhere or a download option or been hoping it will pop up on Netflix or somewhere one of these days so I can watch it with my family because my childhood was EXACTLY like this as well as I went through the same sitiations growing up to an adult. So Powerful! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member A tough movie to sit through but gripping and inspiring and tragic and hopeful and oh so sad - a true story that will make you feel such a range of emotions - and a movie that can do that is always good in my book! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member best film I've seen in ages I even shed a tear! bring your teenagers to see it then they might appreciate you and a normal family after watching it ! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member really enjoyed this - grim and disturbing but inspiring and touching too Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member I missed the first half, but it was really easy to get into and a compelling story. I don't really care for those action mob films but thought this was excellent! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Deborah Ross The Spectator Although there are a few nice-ish cameos - Ioan Gruffudd pops up, as do James Fox and Jodie Whittaker - it's not enough to save this film from itself or give it any kind of emotional authenticity. Aug 30, 2018 Full Review Charlotte O'Sullivan London Evening Standard Director Nick Moran obviously feels strongly about the material but fails to create a consistent tone. Rated: 3/5 Sep 22, 2010 Full Review Marc Lee Daily Telegraph (UK) Nick Moran -- like Casey Affleck, an actor-turned-director -- marshals his relentlessly grim material unflinchingly, and Rupert Friend, as the adult Kevin, is engaging and convincing in a complex role. Rated: 3/5 Sep 16, 2010 Full Review Christopher Tookey Daily Mail (UK) It's so unsubtle in its characterisation and so plodding in its narrative that it's unlikely to reach much of an audience. Rated: 2/5 Jan 4, 2018 Full Review Sophie Ivan Film4 In this case, truth isn't stranger than fiction, it's just strangely hackneyed. Rated: 2.5/5 Sep 22, 2010 Full Review Allan Hunter Daily Express (UK) A de-glamourised Natascha McElhone is so unconvincing as the harridan of a mother that her performance is hard to take seriously.
