Jeff M This is one of those insomnia movies you put on at 2AM in the event that you might eventually fall asleep. Well, to its credit, I managed to stay awake through the whole thing. And, I'd say for the first half hour or so, I was going with it. I was rather enthralled to see Punky Brewster herself, Soleil Moon Frye, in a small dramatic role as the murdered teenager around whom the story revolves. Sadly, as time goes on, the writing becomes more and more amateurish, and the characters become so insultingly one-note and stereotypical that it was actually making me mad. Meyers, best known from the 80s sitcom KATIE & ALLIE, is a lovely presence and has a nice smile, but she and the rest of the cast are totally obliterated by Oscar nominee Harper, who so out-acts her co-stars that it's almost painful to watch. There are scenes where the character would have been a total embarrassment were it not for Harper's talent. If you've seen five movies in your life, you'll be able to predict where it's heading pretty quickly.
