Bell excels at conveying emotion subtly but potently, making her character, Alison, seem absolutely real. The plot is a pretty saccharine one, but I believed Bell and Tim Matheson's father-daughter relationship (shades of Veronica and Keith Mars at times) and enjoyed the simple story with its pretty lake-town locations.
