Simon T @Bucksplit 10/21/2020 Unbelievably turgid 40s horror noir with a dreadful performance in the leading female role, excellent cinematography and production design, a relentless musical underscore, and a wonderfully ripe villain in Erich von Stroheim. The plot is something to do with a disembodied brain controlling the hero's search for justice or something. It's so impenetrable and slow that one quickly loses the will to live.
