william k Little dark sci-fi nonsense is fairly entertaining; Erich von Stroheim does an excellent job as the mad scientist. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Unbelievably turgid 40s horror noir with a dreadful performance in the leading female role, excellent cinematography and production design, a relentless musical underscore, and a wonderfully ripe villain in Erich von Stroheim. The plot is something to do with a disembodied brain controlling the hero's search for justice or something. It's so impenetrable and slow that one quickly loses the will to live. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member second version of this as a brain is kept alive after the wealthy finacer dies only to begin to inhabit the scientist who is keeping it alive. another version is called "the brain' and "donovan's brain" Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
