Sergio Burstein Los Angeles Times In addition to obtaining outstanding performances from all his actors, the director demonstrates that he has extensive knowledge of the cinematographic language, and uses it to immerse us in its simple but ingenious story. [Full review in Spanish] May 25, 2024 Full Review Claudia Puig FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) A quirky, indie Neo-noir Western with a dash of Coen Brothers and a sprinkle of Tarantino. Darkly funny, well acted, and cleverly written. May 15, 2024 Full Review Matt Zoller Seitz RogerEbert.com "Last Stop in Yuma County" is the kind of movie where you root for the worst to happen, because every escalation of misfortune makes things more entertaining. Rated: 3/4 May 10, 2024 Full Review Matt Brunson Film Frenzy Ensemble pieces such as this run the risk of employing their characters as nothing more than pawns to be shuffled through the proceedings, but Galluppi and his well-chosen cast do a fine job of not only making these people believable but also interesting. Rated: 3/4 Jul 22, 2024 Full Review Jeff Beck The Blu Spot The Last Stop in Yuma County utilizes a simple premise to deliver plenty of thrills & tension over the course of its brief 90-minute runtime, ultimately resulting in a small gem of a film that will have you on the edge of your seat. Rated: 4/5 Jul 15, 2024 Full Review Laura Clifford Reeling Reviews Just when you think you know where it’s going, Galluppi pulls the rug out from under you, and he does it with panache as well, cinematographer Mac Fisken showcasing the cast and location with various camera angles and techniques...one crafty little indie. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/19/25 Full Review Tyler G A pretty straightforward and minimalist thriller about who ends up with the money. I liked it but it is just okay. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/16/25 Full Review Wayne M The Last Stop in Yuma County is an impressively staged and tightly written thriller. It was a film that had me engrossed through out. This impressive film is set in one location, a gas station in Yuma County, Arizona in the 1970s. The central character is a knife salesman who stops for gas but is informed that the pumps are dry and a refueling truck is not far away. He waits in the nearby diner run by Charlotte. They hear of a nearby bank robbery by two men in a green Pinto. When the Pinto arrives at the gas staion you can imagine the situation becomes very tense. It escalates as other people visit the diner and the situation grows in tension. For a small film it's all handled very impressively. The writing is super tight and you are never sure where things will end up. The cast are excellent with Jim Cummings and Jocelin Donahue especially good. This film is excellent in many ways. One that I enjoyed quite a lot. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/06/25 Full Review Read all reviews
