Sergio Burstein Los Angeles Times In addition to obtaining outstanding performances from all his actors, the director demonstrates that he has extensive knowledge of the cinematographic language, and uses it to immerse us in its simple but ingenious story. [Full review in Spanish] May 25, 2024 Full Review Claudia Puig FilmWeek (LAist) A quirky, indie Neo-noir Western with a dash of Coen Brothers and a sprinkle of Tarantino. Darkly funny, well acted, and cleverly written. May 15, 2024 Full Review Matt Zoller Seitz RogerEbert.com "Last Stop in Yuma County" is the kind of movie where you root for the worst to happen, because every escalation of misfortune makes things more entertaining. Rated: 3/4 May 10, 2024 Full Review Cameron Ritter Geek Vibes Nation This film is at minimum an extremely fun ensemble piece that is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat, but also gives the audience the chance to look in the mirror and ask what they might do in a situation such as this. Rated: 8/10 Jul 19, 2025 Full Review Matt Pais MattPais.com I don’t often describe something as a good yarn, but “The Last Stop in Yuma County” is one. 333.zerimar all the details were great! Reservoir Dogs vibes 😍 the way they shot it, the setting, the perspective, the style (Tarantino), just great Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/04/24 Full Review Hector good story, put together very well👍 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/16/24 Full Review Danny Z Pretty freaking good movie for not as much press given but surprisingly really good and left me thinking. definitely recommend Rated 4 out of 5 stars 05/12/24 Full Review Samir S A Pressure Cooker in the Desert! The Last Stop in Yuma County unfolds like a forgotten postcard from the American Southwest, faded, sun-stained, and quietly ominous. Set in a lonely roadside diner, the film observes violence creeping through stillness and stiffled whispers. A gas station out of fuel, a waitress with tired eyes, and strangers who stay longer than they should, these are the ingredients of this taut, slow-burn thriller. The film becomes especially memorable because of the psychological pressure that builds up inside the diner. Everyone is waiting, some for gas, some for coffee, some for something to snap, and when it does, karma plays out with methodical precision. Director Francis Galluppi is more interested in dread than drama. He stages the diner like a pressure cooker, where politeness is weaponized and silence feels like a countdown. The characters are stripped of backstories, which somehow makes them feel more real, people reduced to decisions, caught in a game where hesitation can be fatal. At its core, The Last Stop in Yuma County is about ordinary people tested under extraordinary pressure. It asks what breaks first under fear: morality, community, or self-preservation. The answers are never dull. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/27/25 Full Review Peter R. Great, original and suspenseful movie. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/21/25 Full Review Jeffrey P Brief character study without much depth, in the style of Coen Brothers and Tarantino. Lacks memorable dialogue and scenes.
