ROY C Im from Tijuana mexico and I really enjoyed this movie. Obviuously m not your typical United States audience but somehow I really had fun with this movie. I saw this on MAX and it made me laugh. I recommended. Thumbs up!! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Flat out terrible! Period!! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member I watched this after watching Project Greenlight season 4. Seeing the process and the players, it turned out, heightened my expectations; while Jason Mann is quite unlikable in my opinion, Ben, Matt, Effie, and the others are quite, and seemingly wise with regard to the industry. But after watching The Leisure Class, I feel I gave them all too much credit... about 99.9% too much; the movie really stunk. I haven't read the screenplay; I'm a little bit scared to: maybe its text form contains some kind of voodoo. Or was Not Another Pretty Woman really THAT bad? Anyway, storywise, it doesn't make sense. Primarily, why is Leonard the way he is?What does he want? Does one have to watch the short for insight into this character's motives? Also, the "inside jokes and jabs" the brothers exchange, aside from being too transparent to realistically fool even the aloofest characters, counter their own motives most of the time, like Week's character calling attention to their BS by pressing his brother on details of their fictional past. It's just sloppy and thin storytelling. Among the only things well done, i think, are cinematography and casting i suppose. But I have a hard time believing anyone was pleased to take credit for any role in its production. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member I liked the actors and the story was promissing. The actors did a great performance. I think that something was missing in the story. I believe if the director had had more time to write the story, It would have being much better. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Almost took an ice pick and stabbed my eyes out to eliminate the pain of watching this disaster. Liz Shannon Miller indieWire I'm not sure that the movie, in the end, was worth everything that went into making it. Rated: C Nov 3, 2015 Full Review Ned Ehrbar TheWrap The most interesting thing about The Leisure Class is how it was made, and that's not interesting enough. Nov 2, 2015 Full Review Scott Von Doviak AV Club You can see the vague outlines of what Mann was going for here-the sort of lighthearted farce that deepens into nightmarish black comedy as the night progresses... He doesn't come close to pulling it off, though. Rated: D+ Nov 2, 2015 Full Review David Nusair Reel Film Reviews ...a half-baked idea that clearly needed more time in the writing phase. Rated: 2/4 Nov 18, 2015 Full Review Ken Tucker Yahoo! TV The Leisure Class ends up making its most cogent comment on the leisure-class of show business - all these over-paid, over-indulged people, collaborating to give birth to a dull baby.
