Zoey V Weird and boring…that's about it. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/02/23 Full Review PETER W One of the weirdest films I've ever seen. A great flick for Halloween. Its about a young man who lives on his own after being released from a mental institution. He digs up the bodies of dead people and brings them home. They come to life and befriend him. In the end they burn in a fire because he no longer needs them. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/29/23 Full Review prawnda s it starts off pretty reasonably, with a few good jokes and some weird awkwardness, nice aesthetics and acting etc. the problem is that the script runs out of ideas right around where the movie should be picking up momentum, and it just has a little too much excessive gross out content. the pacing and the contrast between serious or comedic vs just outright disgusting stuff like watching the dad vomit up ooze for 10 minutes at the dinner table. it feels like we started out with an already niche product in terms of the concept, but the film alienates it's narrow remaining audience with a lack of commitment to either horror, drama, or comedy. it's just a little too much of everything at once, and i've seen enough stale jokes about losing body parts that the undead aspects of the film were probably the least appealing. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 05/18/23 Full Review Stanley I Super cute! A little rough around the edges sure, but I found it charming and endearing, and the visuals and aesthetic are beautiful. Funny and sweet, overall a fun zombie movie that doesn't take itself too seriously and isn't afraid to tug n your heartstrings a little without making the movie completely miserable. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/11/23 Full Review Alex V It's really weird, but not an experience I'd give up. Tiffin's accent is the kind of accent I fall asleep to. Nice. Sheila O'Malley RogerEbert.com The film relies too heavily on cliche and hopes the audience won't notice. Rated: 1.5/4 Oct 14, 2022 Full Review Simon Abrams TheWrap The gags tend to be so broad and lazy that it’s hard to imagine how this movie’s retro-bait sensibility will appeal to anyone other than the targets of this poisoned-apple crowdpleaser’s toothless criticism. Oct 10, 2022 Full Review Meagan Navarro Bloody Disgusting It’s a simple yet charming story that uses the sitcom format to satirize the nuclear family while offering the protagonist a chance for growth through escapism. The cute zombie comedy makes for an on-the-nose means of coping with death. Rated: 3/5 Aug 26, 2022 Full Review Tina Kakadelis Beyond the Cinerama Dome The Loneliest Boy in the World was made for all the weirdos who never fit in when they were in high school. While the film may not have mastered the juggling act of horror, comedy, and coming of age, it certainly paves a path of its own. Jul 24, 2023 Full Review Rich Cross Starburst A surreal tale that aims to blend the corpse comedy of Weekend at Bernie’s with the macabre motifs of a Tim Burton fantasy, but which ends up strangely devoid of life. Rated: 2/5 Nov 21, 2022 Full Review Tom Cassidy Common Sense Media Delivered with charm and confidence by director Martin Owen, this is a pretty wild ride that draws from horror-comedy classics but manages to forge its own weird world.
