Steve D Thin but cute with good work by the cast. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/03/24 Full Review lanfranco c Very romantic, too much romantic! Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review sam j Betty White true emotional tribute to those that the Final Sacrifice. Best Hallmark Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review katie d First of all, it was extremely refreshing to watch a Hallmark movie with background music at an appropriate volume that enhances the feeling of the scene rather than drowning out the dialogue! Plus, the cinematography and arrangement were successful at inspiring the right feelings at the right moments. There is charmingly natural chemistry between Jennifer Love Hewitt and Sean Faris, and the casting for Caroline (Betty White and Meghann Fahy) was absolutely perfect! My only complaint: Jennifer Love Hewitt's fake eyelashes are too big! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Seriously, by the end of the show, I was in a puddle of tears. 66 years she waited for her husband to come home, every year she is waiting for him at the train station and then he finally did come home, draped with a flag and she relives the goodbye again, the grief and the end of hope that he is still alive. Omg the pain ... But, Betty White portrayed it so well that I think she did an incredible service to all the servicemen and women and their families in bringing to us their stories of love and sacrifice. However, the storyline did bring up a philosophical question for me. Who's to say the love would still be as strong if they had lived out all their days together? Is it easier to love the memory of someone or to love the person you live with day in and day out? I think the latter is harder so to everyone who has managed to stay happily married for even 25 years, I really salute you and celebrate with you. To balance that effect, it would have been nice to have actually seen how her son had found an endearing love but her son and daughter in law were as 2 dimensional as a cardboard stand in the show. If they had been replaced with pull up stands, we wouldn't have noticed. And then to the 3rd generation, the love between Lucas and Susan was not developed properly and was therefore not believable. I know the storyline is more about Betty's lost Valentine but her lost love needed to be balanced with love today and that was not developed properly. And just in conclusion, for most people I think, if Susan had insulted their grandmother (at the start of the show, comparing her to a dog waiting for his master to come home), I think we would have been really upset and not ended up falling in love with her, at least not without a lot of apologies and demonstrations of regret. Yes she did the interviews but that was more for her career than to say sorry to Lucas for her horrid and evil comment. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Touching movie with an excellent portrayal of a WWII widow whose husband is still MIA and her story.
