Meghann Fahy
A role in the Pulitzer Prize-winning musical Next To Normal helped to propel actress Meghann Fahy to television, where she played feisty young women on "One Life to Live" (ABC/The Online Network, 1968-2013), "Political Animals" (USA Network, 2012) and "The Bold Type" (Freeform, 2017- ). Born April 25, 1990 in Longmeadow, Massachusetts, Meghann Alexandra Fahy began singing publicly at the age of eight, but did not try her hand at acting until playing Dorothy in a school production of "The Wizard of Oz." The experience set her determination to become a musical theater performer, which she began pursuing in her senior year of high school by auditioning at an open call for the ill-fated Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark. Though she did not land a part in the production, she was asked by a casting agent to audition for the out-of-town run of Next To Normal. Fahy was soon cast as understudy to Jennifer Damiano, who played Natalie, the overachieving daughter to a bipolar mother (Alice Ripley) in the Pulitzer Prize-winning musical, and followed the production as it transferred to Broadway in 2009. Fahy took over as Natalie that same year and remained with the production through its Tony-winning season in 2009 and its national tour, which concluded in 2011. During this period, Fahy also played malevolent college student Hannah O'Connor on "One Life to Live" and essayed the younger version of Navy wife Betty White in the TV-movie "The Lost Valentine" (CBS, 2011). After returning briefly to the stage for the title role in The Unauthorized Autobiography of Samantha Brown in 2011, Fahy settled into regular work on television, including recurring roles on "Political Animals" and "Chicago Fire" (NBC, 2012- ). In 2016, she was cast as a lobbyist working for cold-blooded political strategist Jessica Chastain in "Miss Sloane" before joining the main cast of "The Bold Type," a drama about a trio of friends working for a major women's magazine.
