Gary Goldstein Los Angeles Times Ambition overtakes ways and means in "The Lumber Baron," a fusty and unpersuasive if well-intentioned drama about the American logging industry circa 1910 that has "Masterpiece Theatre" aims but far more pedestrian results. May 24, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews

Debbie M I love period movies, so I loved the costumes, the settings, the stories. They used an actual lumber baron's house and actual sawyer tools. I love the authenticity. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/23/24 Full Review Audience Member Super fresh! Amazing movie - a MUST watch! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member Excellent story! Great scenery. Not sure why it was rated R on Amazon? Definity a family-friendly movie. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member I enjoyed the interesting cast of characters. It was nice to see the movie was filmed in several local settings. It was a good film especially considering the low budget. I would recommend it to anyone with an interest in local history. There were several plot twists that have inspired me to want to do some historical research to find out if any of it is factual. Some of the logging scenes we're a bit excessive therefore I didn't award 5 stars. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member Beautiful, authentic locations transport you back in time. Stunning sets and costumes are a delightful feast for the eyes. The musical score captivates and draws the audience into every scene. The story is beautifully and intelligently written and the entire film is presented with elegance and class. A genuine work of art and a breath of fresh air on the big screen. An absolute must see! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member This is a feel good movie. It won't disappoint. In this day and age, we need more movies that gives us hope. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Read all reviews
