With his star on the rise, hip hop phenom L'Orange is a recluse. Clinically depressed, he lives a quiet life in Nashville with his faithful dog Scraps. Things seem to be looking up when he is hired to create an exciting new album for ADULT SWIM. But when he develops mysterious tumors in his ear canals, his world is thrown into chaos. L'Orange struggles with what it would mean to lose his hearing, as he undergoes several risky surgeries in order to save his burgeoning career.
