When a mild stroke diminishes her ability to care for herself, Judith Albright (Barbara Hershey) moves to Golden Sun Manor, an assisted living facility with a sterling reputation. But despite the best efforts of the staff, and a budding friendship with fellow senior Roland (Bruce Davidson), strange occurrences and nightmarish visions convince Judith that a sinister presence is haunting the massive estate. As residents begin to die mysteriously, Judith's frantic warnings are dismissed as fantasy. Even her devoted grandson Josh (Nicholas Alexander) thinks her fears are the result of dementia, not demons. With no one willing to believe her, Judith must either escape the confines of the manor, or fall victim to the evil that dwells within it. Read More Read Less

Paw P I loved the location of filming. The house from the film House 2: The Second Story. And I wasn't expecting an ending like that. Good twist. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/05/24 Full Review P B 13 minutes left and i really don't care if any characters live or die 🫠 Rated 2 out of 5 stars 08/23/23 Full Review brad p Axelle Carolyn continues her winning streak with an atmospheric and heartfelt tale that speaks to the fear of growing old. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Jade H Really refreshing to have an older cast rather than monotonous 'good looking' teen slasher style. Great film with adequate scares and zero nudity!!! Celebrating minority groups other than the obvious. Worth a watch in opinion Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review toby h The Manor is a thoughtful horror that looks at how the elderly are treated. There are a host of cliches involved, which the Welcome to the Blumhouse series sticks to. However, this house has some dark twists and turns. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Joey 4 This was by far the worst movie i've ever seen. I'd rather get locked up in an alzheimer home myself listening to nyan cat 10 hours a day than watch this movie again. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/02/22 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Robert Levin Newsday Plays like a cheaper and more predictable version of the same movie that's been made a thousand times over. Rated: 1.5/4 Oct 25, 2021 Full Review Stephen Romei The Australian It is written and directed by Axelle Carolyn, who has her share of fright scenes, as an actor and director. The focus of the final four films is "institutional horrors and personal phobias". Rated: 3.5/5 Oct 15, 2021 Full Review Jake Wilson The Age (Australia) As filmmaking, The Manor is no great shakes. There's an abundance of schlocky music cues, ominous close-ups and other stock horror-movie flourishes, meant to throw us off balance but almost have the opposite effect. Rated: 3/5 Oct 13, 2021 Full Review Jordy Sirkin Jordy Reviews It The film utilizes some creepy elements and mild jump scares alongside a moody atmosphere. The mystery builds at a great pace and the ending subverts expectations, offering a nicely packaged story. Feb 22, 2023 Full Review Carla Hay Culture Mix The Manor starts off as an intriguing movie showing parallels between a horror story and people's fear of aging and diseases. But the movie is ruined by a campy ending, which has a big decision that will leave viewers divided. Dec 31, 2021 Full Review Steve Murray ArtsATL Manor provides some OK fun, and an enjoyable, morally ambivalent ending. Nov 5, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews
