Kayla Cobb Decider The Mars Generation doesn't seem to be a documentary for established space lovers but for people who are marginally interested in science. Dec 19, 2017 Full Review Barbara Shulgasser Common Sense Media Docu follows teens at NASA space camp; some peril. Rated: 3/5 May 9, 2017 Full Review Crystal Sparrow Black Girl Nerds It's hard not to side-eye a documentary that reverently speaks about a Nazi known for his brutality while not making note of the essential mind of Katherine Johnson which made it possible to land a man on the moon. Rated: 3/5 May 8, 2017 Full Review Josh Terry Deseret News (Salt Lake City) Does a good job of tapping into the inherent hope of exploring outer space and providing a realistic examination of what it will require. Audience Member This wishful thinking documentary about THE MARS GENERATION talks about the hopes and dreams of young people wanting to land on Mars. They don't talk very deeply about why it is important to further explore any part of space, which is a failure to generate an argument about why the money should be spent to take that next step. Talking about building the first interplanetary railroad is a good start. Otherwise, they talk about the costs of space. Money, money, money. Money is always such a huge problem and obstacle, maybe something needs to change about that. Then Elon Musk comes along and is willing to throw all the money he can at the next step in human development. Through the SpaceX program, we can see a rapid experimental movement towards the future our species needs. Oh yes, and the doc briefly mentions how we still need to do something about sustainable living on Earth. Because we can't all get to Mars if things go wrong on our planet of origin. And then even with all that, we also get to see our favorite science spokespeople like Neil Degrasse Tyson, Bill Nye and Michio Kaku all talk about the practical parts of space travel. All started by American leadership hiring a Nazi. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member I love this so much! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member I didn't care for it right from the beginning. It's just showing a group of kids at a space camp and what they do on a daily basis. Have no interest in that. didn't finish the movie. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Really inspiring and intelligent discussion of the past and future of space travel. Great documentary filmmaking on display. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member The movie was very inspiring and full of content Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member These kids are why I became a science teacher!
