Renowned director and actor Simon McBurney recently made his Metropolitan Opera debut with a daring reimagination of Die Zauberflöte (The Magic Flute), and the critics are hailing it as a highlight of the season. The Financial Times calls the production as "Equal parts dazzling, grounded and laugh-out-loud funny… ★★★★★," with the Observer declaring that it "captures the anything-can-happen shimmer that defines live theater." Experience Mozart's beloved fable live from the Met stage to cinemas nationwide, featuring soprano Erin Morley and tenor Lawrence Brownlee under the baton of Maestro Nathalie Stutzmann.

Seabreeze! Wonderful voices, wonderful orchestra and conductor, and the music, of course,i is divine. Just dont let the digital tech and clever cameras take over—getting too close! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/08/23 Full Review James M The Metropolitan Opera live simulcast was a pleasure to watch at Kaufman Astoria. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 06/06/23 Full Review Pam The Opera itself was presented in perfection. But I have a complaint about the sound quality in Regal North Hills Movie Theater in Raleigh. The sound inside our theater 10 was low and flat. During the Intermission, I went out and reported it to an employee, who said someone was already looking into it. Well, afterwards, the sound was somewhat louder but still flat--no one adjusted the graphic equalizer and there was literally no bass. Very annoying, as if classical music doesn't require full sound! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/05/23 Full Review Lynn L It was delightful: funny, inventive and full of wisdom. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/05/23 Full Review Virginia C Loved the voices and orchestra, but prefer the traditional costuming and staging. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/04/23 Full Review Candice R Delightful! Refreshing! Unique! Like no other opera experience! I generally don't enjoy modernized operas, but this employed so many unique and artistic methods to tell the story, that I was consistently surprised and engaged.
