Steve D Completely unwatchable. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/24 Full Review Audience Member Taken on its own, this is a so-so movie. Brandon DeWilde ("Biarn") is a runaway orphan who ends up in a small town, living on an abandoned farm and trying to make his way on his own despite some obstacles and antagonists he meets along the way. If you only ever saw the movie, well 'it passed the time'. I've seen worse. However - the book version of this story is enormously more complex and far better. In the book, Biarn has a much harder time of things but beyond that his presence and interaction with some of the townspeople eventually affects their lives. Often times when a book is made into a movie, something is lost. In this case, about 2/3 of it was lost, and unfortunately it's near impossible to find a copy of the actual book. In fact it's near impossible to even find that it exists anyplace! Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Lee Marvin is good but everyone else falls flat.
