Pretty to look at, horrible everything else. It's a nice movie to have on a TV in the background at a Halloween party, that's about it. Just as the movie started to feel like an actual movie the darn thing ends. Also Sheri was a horrible casting choice for Lily… it's suppose to be how Herman and Lily met but yet Sheri looks older in this film than in the television series… yeah…

For low budget, this was a well done, and fun prequel to the Munsters (I hope it was low budget)… The casting wasn't as good as I hoped (I would have liked to have had Herman being a little closer to his original Fred Gwynne voice and laugh… Granted the car 54 line was a nice nod to Fred Gwynne, being that he was also in car 54). Yes, the characters, jokes, and situations were extremely dumb, but that is incredibly true and accurate to the original series. I also would have liked to have had Grandpa a litter bit closer to the original (the look and the laugh were a bit too far off). I thought the dbag mad scientist that made Herman could have also been a much better character. I suspect some of the disappointed folks were expecting more of an Adams Family movie… The Munsters were similar, but still worlds apart from the Adams family… This is far more true to the original series in both spirit and lame dad type jokes (which is where Fred Gwynne‘s over the top Herman Munster laugh was so on the money). Anyway… It's worth a watch for real fans of the original show. I took one star for bad casting and one for the script. The script needed a lot of work, while the overall plot was decent. There were some scenes that were a bit too lame and should have been replaced. There were a lot of running gags that should have been included, granted there was still a lot that was true to the original. I wouldn't call it a love letter to the original Munsters, but it does pay homage to it. If you are not a Munsters fan, you will most likely hate it. The first time I saw Hudson Hawk I thought it was going to be an action/burglar movie… I was like…TF is this crud?… Once I realized it was a spoof, I rewound the movie and enjoyed it (back in the VHS tape days). Don't expect anything different than the original Munsters, and it's an entertaining prequel…

Pésima. Los chistes y la historia parecen ser escritos por y para chicos de 3 años. Es inaudito que pasen tantas cosas y resulte tan aburrida. Entiendo que los efectos intentan ser burdos y parecer antiguos a propósito pero eso no justifica los colores y psicodelia que parecen sacados de lo peor de Joel Schumacher. Esperaba un desastre, no esperaba que sea tan desastrosa.

This is the stupidest movie I have ever watched...or tried to watch, I have seen some real losers...(IE. The Incredible Melting Man)...but this is a total waste of time. It is pointless, shallow, and should not even have the name of the Munsters associated with it. Do no waste your time watching it unless you are a masochist. How on earth anyone could give this five flick five stars just staggers the imagination. Awful! Awful! Awful!
