"The Mustangs: America's Wild Horses" is a feature documentary that takes audiences on an odyssey throughout America to places few people have seen or know about. There are more than 80,000 wild horses on our public lands and 50,000 in government corrals. Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist David Philipps says, "The wild horse is so ingrained in the American imagination that even for those who have never seen one know what it stands for: fierce independence, unbridled freedom, the bedrock ideals of the nation. From car ads to high school mascots, the wild horse -- popularly known as the mustang -- is the enduring icon of America. But in modern times it has become entangled in controversy and bureaucracy, and now its future is in question." The film features songs by Bruce Springsteen, Emmylou Harris, Willie Nelson and an original song written by Diane Warren and performed by Blanco Brown. "America's wild horses are fighting their last stand," said Executive Producer Robert Redford. The Mustangs....the fight for freedom has begun!

A lovely, essential portrait that's also a little dull. It sometimes feels more like a promotional film than penetrating documentary. Go to Full Review

A fine, upstanding look at the breed of feral steeds that have been an iconic symbol for the American West for centuries and, yes, it has a slow-build message. Go to Full Review

Dee C Mar 24 Hot garbage. So much misinformation and disinformation. At least they had some pretty pictures of horses. See more Tom M 12/07/2024 A feel good film with some lovely imagery, but it felt directors worked hard to repeat trite tributes, chop and mix scenes, stretching 30 minutes of content into 90. See more 01/19/2022 Didn't think the program would lure me in with such an amazing flow of natural sense of being .. I found myself transfixed with the gentle ways of the behavioural attitude from a wild horse. It brought back to light the fact that a animal untouched by human interference holds no grudge or fear and that a true trust and relationship between animal and human can really exist in a way more beautiful then can ever be taught. You watch and drift into almost a magic moment of calm and sensual feelings. This documentary was truly beautiful and I couldn't stop watching each and every second. I highly recommend viewing this one as it does what real documented film should do, it has you hooked, moved and want for a better expression, be a better person and be a More meaningful person towards our neighbouring friends, animals . Life can truly exist and be shared amongst all creatures. this film couldn't have put any more emphasis on this perspective of harmony and humanity at its best . See more Read all reviews
